Phased out of interest
Mood:  a-ok

Whereas the cut, pasting and posting of my real first and last name on message boards along with my email address and letters may create a sense of hardship on me personally, in the end, it's really not my problem if  other people choose to do what they will with my emails.

But it also does create a situation where I may be less prone to use my real name.

What else can I do? What would you do? Are you me? Have you ever had personal details of your life made public without your expressed written permission?

Other people new to this country may not understand or appreciate this but may be in for a rude awakening if they cant truly accept our sense of fair play towards our own citizens. As a first nations member at least that is what I hoped.

The Truth and Reconciliation Commission in Canada is something I look forward to happening in Western Canada, and while I appreciate the denizens of comebackalive may not have appreciated the awareness about these historical events that  I was bringing to the board, as someone who felt personally affected by it, it was something I found difficult to restrain my self from doing.

But show me one person who thinks I deserve to have my private matters showcased on message boards like that and I will show you someone who does so with the benefit of anonymity.

And as such not a real trust in their own opinion.

Although I watched the Prime Ministers apology live just  two years ago,  I am yet to hear from, meet, or talk with anyone who can honestly sympathize or commiserate with the negative impact this legacy has imprinted upon my life.

Whereas 'truth' might be a word that generates initial enthusiasm, I find it difficult to believe that everyday Canadians would find it so hard to contemplate for a few seconds what the 'reconciliation' aspect portion of the equation means for the people who have been thrown into these situations that are not of our own creation.

If the owners of that message board had agreed to themselves that I am due any special consideration or respect based on that, they would have certainly removed the offending emails long ago.

I am sure they must be smiling to themselves quite self-satisfactorily.

I have no false sense of pride. Theres no regal bearing in me for descending from someone sent to a residential school, in addition to the painful seperation from parents, to merely say 'treated badly' is a vast understaement.

I have no illusions regarding the facts that my mother, her brothers and sisters, were exposed to the most generally shocking, and most dangerous living conditions in Canada.

I think if people wanted to show they were more generally genuinely concerned about the cultural protocol in general and unafraid to speak about it, our sense of happiness would be self-evident.

What is it that people expect?

Do they want an apology from me?
