Someone also did a drive by of the recent rockslide in Oliver, BC.

Forest is burning near enough to my locale to make the air feel a touch heavy, the hint of soot, and dark clouds spot blotch the far horizon. When the view from the sun was obstructed at sunset, the smoke filtering mixed with the pictureesque sunset caused an almost eerie effect. The sun visible in outline like a huge red-orange orb behind the single stream of mixed clouds and smoke. O

 Well.

Heres to the endless winding road and the yearning for new horizons.

.... sure, they can put my letters online and open book out of my private heart but they cant take away my Neil Diamond, Barbara Streisand, Celine Dion CD collection.

....with a note to self: blogging/writing can be an expensive time consuming endeavor and while may seem like a good way to boost creativity, can actually have a reverse affect of sapping it in other areas of life that may be in more dire need a creative influx more than the Internets web.

As far as I know , there is NO BOOK or self-starter guide called/entitled

"How to Live Your Life Creatively"

Not even for dummies. But there is a  web site

"Why We Lie is a wide ranging discussion of the uses of dishonesty in public and private life, a polemic that includes Rowe's views on climate change and the global credit crisis, seems like her answer to some of the world's problems.

Psychology, for Rowe, is the science of living in the real world, and she has thrown off all caution to declare what she believes to be the truth about everything."

Fascinating stuff. Her new book is "a tale of survival"

Great little story today in the paper about a Vietnamese refugee who overcame enormous odds to attain a Masters Degree in Psychology.

As a child, I remember the "boat people"; as they were patly named, both from television news reports and smiling faces in this community of Prince George many years ago.

Saying Hello to us was a experience shrouded in bubbling over joy.

Even with the weather as nice at is, it's good to start with a daily dose of inspiration .....

Where to Stay to Watch Storms in Western Canada. If you have the coin, this might be the place to go to rejuvenate your senses this year if you are tired of sensory assault from theme park rides.

This is where they should really have the next G-8 and G-20. The Coast Guard and Navy could just blockade the area , the RCMP could provide road spot checks and the army reserve could mask patrol the forests with Alsatian hounds. Bill? 2-3 million. Anyway! :)))))))))))

 ))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

That little preamble brings me to what will surely be the touchstone event memorable for years to come, as a lot of eyes and ears on Toronto this month with the reports of escalating costs and tax money being spent continue to overshadow and drown out anything this lavish expensive endeavour of hobnobbing of nation states hopes to accomplish. Or, pardon moi-,...is that the drub and clamour of noisy protesting I hear?

Meanwhile, I was able to lend my heart and mind to the unfolding of events in Winnipeg, Manitoba earlier this evening to watch the sun shining through deciduous trees, the birds chirping, as CPAC had taped the live ceremonious opening of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Canadas Governor General will be speaking tommorow (saturday) and honoring the work being done there with her presence.

Heard any news about BP other than criminal investigations and lawsuits, whistleblowers, public relations disasters, fired ("let-go") executives, desecrateds birds and beaches, movie star actors with cleanup machines and company supply side economic tinkering?

Let the spin-offs begin. (PS And dont forget New Mexico.)

Meanwhile, huge news in B.C. with far reaching international implications is a scathing report that thoroughly patches together the jigsaw puzzle of events that brought about the use of stun guns to cause the death of a Polish national at Vancouvers International Aeroport.

A lot of people are concurrent with the thought that it is just totally bewildering and mind-boggling and gasping to think that a non-English speaking person could be , in such a security conscious era,  be even ALLOWED to wander about lost, without even a thought towards his well being, let alone an action.

A few of my Friends on Facebook are in Vancouver and I can't

help but feel s-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-oo-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o

sorry for you!

Meanwhile, look @ Prince George? Like we deserve this.!

It seems like the sunny-England type weather has been lasting this way forever.

But as a disclaimer, I must say that when it does rain here in the Interior and as far North as we are, it is not the 'sprinkle effect' that the Lower Mainlanders are so used to.

When it rains here it just does not threaten: it really does rain!

With real droplets that 'smack' on the pavement and the air becomes aerated with with the instant dew point humidity hanging in the air. You can actually smell the fresh rain.

Sometimes if it rains at night, the freshly watered land and greenery releases an aromatic fresh bouquet of beautiful release from  its previous stagnation. (Pardon my lack of poetic prose at this time.)

And the night is another thing. Often one can see feint shadows and scatterings of light high on the far northeast horizon as late as 11 PM, only to see the etched markings of the beginnings of a sunset a few hours later on a different part of the sky.

Right now I feel quite spoiled by it all. Could only stand wearing a T till 2 PM before I was shirtless in the baking sun.

When I return to Vancouver I will be bringing this good weather with me!

And I realize I should stop being such a softie. And maybe this doesn't help I think now as I try to imagine sitting across from someone on a diet while I 'talk while my mouth is full ' packing down some cool mouth watering ice cream. Talking with a full mouth is rude.

edit: and come to think of it, yes, it's a beautiful thing this weather because actually with a depressed economy, unemployment, crime and poor air quality the predominant talking points here, it's a fantastic thing to happen for the people here to experience some nice weather. After all, the first rumblings of winter begin in late , late October and winters can be typically long and harsh. Cannot forget th@.
