..are descending on Ontario.

The Belinda Stronach Foundation

A first for the foundation, a pre-summit gathering from June 15 to 18 called G(irls)20 Summit. It's a meeting of 21 young influential female media personalities from around the world to raise awareness of the most pressing issues that affect girls and women — and find solutions. A member from each of the G20 countries will attend plus one woman from Malawi, so there will be an African representative.

Report says tobacco companies courting young women

With half of all men in some developing countries already hooked on cigarettes, the tobacco industry is now courting lucrative new customers — young women, a report said today.

No images to post here. OK, maybe one.

What can I say? I dont smoke and wouldnt recommend to any young person to start and at any age. Easy to start hard to quit do so while you still have the power ...

If life is short...why does it feel so-o long?
Mood:  don't ask
Topic: Science and Health

National Geographic Explorer Dan Buettner has traveled the globe to uncover the best strategies for longevity found in the Blue Zones: places in the world where higher percentages of people enjoy remarkably long, full lives.

And in this dynamic book he discloses the recipe, blending this unique lifestyle formula with the latest scientific findings to inspire easy, lasting change that may add years to your life.

You’ll meet a 94-year-old farmer and self-confessed "ladies man" in Costa Rica, a 102-year-old grandmother in Okinawa a 102-year-old Sardinian who hikes at least six miles a day, and others. By observing their lifestyles, Buettner's team has identified critical everyday choices.

-  - - -

Like the Internet and its nodes of communication mean to portend information "sharing" , so it is so with the actual point of practice and impact the book has had on the real world around us.

Just ask the people of  the southern Minnesota community of Albert Lea, close enough to the Canadian border..for us to realise, such dreams and ambitions need not be thought of as ....so far away.

See more on How Public Policy Can Help Prevent Heart Disease here.

Sorry no easy-piecy 'click here' links to the actual book from my blog site. Face it, if you're really interested in it, you'll just have to discover the links to living a longer life by making the effort for your self. :)

Mr.Seagal
Mood:  a-ok
Now Playing: Green?
Topic: Entertainment

Heres a scene that is better with less dialog, to let the action 'do the talking'...Mr.Segal wants you to get out of his truck as he doesn't like the way you sit on it.

Guess he grew weary of being nice.

And just btw, if youre following that oil leak/spill in the U.S. these days and have some free leisure time you might actually LIKE this film. Even people who generally do not like  Mr . Segal enjoy this film..you can watch the whole thing online...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bC5cvgUPinY.

My self for me its the ~music~, the story, the Alaskan scenery, funny characters, the native peoples, the action, the dreams/vision scene-... everything, I just love it.

Interestingly in the film it's a  PREVENTER failure (brand new ones) in the films beginning that sets off the oil rig fire, which our hero Steven Seagal enters the scene and comes in to put out.

But in real life, this is the actual cause of the huge disasterous explosion on the oil rig in Louisianna in which 12 men were killed that led to the obvious and deleterious effects we see today.

Real life reality clashes. There are no EPA /FBI with martial arts skills. Or oil men that good with computers.

A short entry - AP Photographer Charlie Riedel just filed the following images of seabirds caught in the oil slick on a beach on Louisiana's East Grand Terre Island. As BP engineers continue their efforts to cap the underwater flow of oil, landfall is becoming more frequent, and the effects more evident. (8 photos total)

Why wash birds?

 --

Although sure we can count on BP to pay its way out by spending millions on clean up and in penalties and lost revenue i.e. share prices, lost oil etc (nearly a billion dollars in total and I presume: counting)

Its wonderful to feel like you're playing a part in a larger picture by donating your self and supporting a group that has always been working in the background to protect ecology and the beauty of nature.

Also,...this is interesting. How would you think hairdressers, the people who cut and style your hair are helping? By donating their tip jar money?

More than that..:)...

a huge International Natural Fiber Recycling mobilization is currently taking place to help get hair boom to the Gulf Coast Spill.

"You shampoo, because hair collects oil. Hair is very efficient at gathering oil,..."

And oh ye~ah..actress/model Pam Anderson has put her star status behind the support of an
online petition to impose sanctions on BP.

Very interesting. I had no idea the prevalent feeling and attitude towards 'flirtatious frivolousness leading to horizontal slide maneuvers' among soldiers among those serving in the U.S. were changing as we speak.

Just gotta love The Establishment Man these days. Everyone in Canada secretly has some corner of their heart reserved, in the abscence of everything related to chucking out corporate documents and gaining some British peerage,....for some genuine heartwarming for our patroned former media baron currently doing time in prison. You cant be envious of anyone in prison.

"If society puts a high value on the talents of a Lady Gaga, (Stephanie Joanne Angelina Germanotta, of the New York Germanottas), no one has the right to say that those talents as a vocalist and showman should be surtaxed. (I have never heard or seen her, other than in still photographs, but I must say that a 23-year old woman from a working-class home in Brooklyn, who has five best-selling song recordings in one year and whose informal motto is “I get up on stage in front of the whole world in my underwear and I don’t give a f… if they like me or not” has earned her money, no matter how screechy, trashy or outrageous she may be.) Listening to Dep Lepperd
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Entertainment

Yesterday. Really am enjoying the weather. Cool First few hours of rain here in over 2 weeks. (Not quite like sunscreen and Raybans, more like "sunny England".)  I really felt sorry for my friends in Vancouver. Some day I'll stop being such a softee. Until then I'll quit worrying about it.....

I think I enjoy this music more than ever I did-lols,haha..I have more appreciation for quality. Def is a supergroup with no equal. Like no southern Texas rock band can duo ZZ Top.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlulT5Yk0t8

I....... like his white pants on stage in this vid. I understand a lot of teen girls and hot women were just totally gaga over this guy back the

in the day , and probably just as many are today

Pretty well sums up how I feel. "Cos baby I'm not"..;)-lol's

I'm with the guys who play the type of music that are glad no "whorld leaders" like them :)

"So we were never driven to do the mascara thing or whatever these bands did. They didn't have any substance musically, I don't think, in comparison to us, so we didn't feel we needed to do it. Bands that do that are doing it to cover up the fact that there is no substance in their music." - Joe Elliot , Lead Singer of Def Lepperd

And according to Wiki, as a songwriter, Elliott has drawn from his eclectic tastes in music (ranging from pop-rock to folk) as sources of inspiration ...

He also often comments that the lyrics to Def Leppard's music are almost never personal; they are meant to be easily accessible to the listener.

Take care.
