RE: BLOG ENTRY ON WRITERS BACK TO WORK

I guess I had it right, write, ...right.

The show Stargate Atlantis has a Canadian writing team and although SGA is produced by American based SciFi network, the show writers are Canadian (WGC) and didnt participate in the strike.

At least thats what this guy wrote.

Its kind of interesting because actor Amanda Tapping just left that show to start on a new one called Sanctuary, which started out as a web series.

It will feature actors performing against virtual backdrops known as 'green screens'.

Something on this level I don't believe we have seen since 'Sky Captain and the World of Tommorow.

By the way, for the aforementioned film, A-listers Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow were sequestered early to the film and practically volunteered their efforts.

If that film were made in the 1940's (as it so looks like it has) it would won ALL the Academy Awards in every category.

It really is a spectacular sumptuous visual feast with treats for all the senses. Fine actors, fine performances, cleverly crafted zippy script and does not try to be what it is not. Rip roaring plot to boot. It has those echoes of evel mad Nazi scientists and reek of jazzy smoky cabarets if you know what I mean.

Everyones a critic.

Thrilling news...

Prince, Madonna and Michael Jackson all turn 50 this year...

an interesting enough prospect to write about? Tantalized are we?

It would be if the writer had mentioned stretched vocal chords and ageing, 

or perhaps Tina Turner  <,,toured and performed, wowed audiences (including yours truly) at age 61, no exclamation mark required)

or Cher, <--received a Grammy nod at age 57!)

or how Abba will not ever do a reunion tour so as to not disappoint their most ardent and faithful fans.

Without out even  a blip about employment prospects doing voice-overs in Disney animated movies...or how the real watermark for aging rock star success is if you can manage to keep your tunes out of commercials for Liquid Plumber jingles and into downloadable cellphone ring*tones (I am totally proud to have Michael Jacksons 'Dirty Diana' on mine!)

while Pat Benatar, the Go-Go Girls and Tiffany found their stars dimmed to wistful meanderings down memory lane, Madonna has led an entire legion of stand up proper and lay it down lo feminista sexualized singer celebrities beginning with Britney and probably ending with Nell Furtado and even Jewel in between. She led the pack and still does.

The reason this female artist has not led her age limit her appeal is in the same mode and fashion David Bowie has. Letting creativity lead the way and popularity and sometimes fickle public taste not determine your destiny. They seem to have an acute understanding and method downpacked of not taking less than stellar record sales too personally. All great careers have dips and no one should try to jet line a career with such dizzying success so as to captivate fans time and time again with no gaps in between.

Is this the reason for Spears failure beyond poor parenting and bad management?

Many people seemeed to be of the opine she would be lucky a few weeks ago to even reach the age of 30.

With the news circulating of a restraining order of sorts against a bad playuh in her small circle of un`erstanders, I think her prospects of enjoying a long fulfilling life full of continued happiness just improved.

But will the cameras let her? Give us time to forget we need another distraction is the siren call ....

W why I stopped posting at the Black Flag Cafe.. ..its the nature of the beast though, both of Hollywood and the Internet

People will die, and then people will talk. One thing I learned upon his passing was that he met his first wife on the set of Brokeback Mountain and she had bore his first and only child. Guess they never were married, eh?

News reports  his first big break in 1996 but askmen.com has a blip that sez back in 1992 he was in a show called "Clowning Around."

We live in a fashion-conscious figure conscientious world. 

Did you want the lastest good dope on dieting and losing weight?

Amidst all the fads and buffonery? Ads for Lean-Cuisine, Weight Watchers and Slim Fast getting to you?

Let me cut to the chase before I start soundling like a late night infomercial for my new ab buster.... 

University of California scientists conducted a review of 30 research papers involving thousands of dieters over a five year period.

What they found was that many people would yo-yo like a yo-yo when dieting , putting on the weight they lost, back;  and  even them some. Fittingly, this is actually called "yo-yo dieting".

They have concluded that long term this is actually dangerous (are you getting this hon, step away from the weigh scale for a second) by increasing the risk of heart disease, heart attacks and premature death.

Great little article. As it says, the advice as simple as it may, wont become a bestseller but what can you say about Californians, five years and 30 research projects on diets and weight-loss?

Isn't it the adage of every salty old Marine, and even a new one, when making up a course of action to: "plan twice"?

This means when making plans let's say a trip you could have to potentially re-adjust your plan a second time in case  things change interim.

This is the thought that came to mind as I read about

one of Canadas largest health authorities keeping information about a controversial laboratory a secret.

Sure it makes for a bold and eye catching headline doesn't it? 

To me the reasoning for doing so makes sense, but thats thankfully a decision that rests with a Supreme Court Judge and not a lone blogger on the fringes of the Internet frontier like my self.

After investigating this on my own I came to two conclusions given below, but it's interesting an eye-catching headline be used when it is exactly what stands out that laboratory researchers should be searching for in their work.

The thing I extracted from this is if you are a person worried or concerned about your breast cancer risk and might feel potentially stymied at turns to educate your self well; the two things you may want to consider are this:

1. it may he helpful to get a second test even if you have already been tested once 
2.  it might seem non-logical or inconsequential at the time, but until more strict procedures are adopted on both sides of the border, schedule your tests if it proceeds to that on a Monday and not a Friday.

From what I can deduce, it might be the difference between a positive and a negative.

I guess in that sense, it's life or death.

A lot of money that that pink raises may go towards research, but what good is it if research and testing is not done to the highest possible standard?
