The Inuit are "dependent" on natural resources
Mood:  don't ask
Topic: News on News
What does an Inuit community on Canada's
Arctic coastline have in common with a rural
village in Africa's breadbasket?
- -
Don't ask me!
I didnt know we were already adapting to climate change.
I thought we were already living in harmony with the
(note: much quoted):
" ' " ' environment " ' " (who the heck started using THAT word?)
-- -
What do the Inuit have in common with the Arab nomads?
Both have survived since immemorial times desert like conditions.
If it were not for the Inuit, we would not know what we know today
about transfats and the links to heart disease and obesity.
Indeed, we have a collective debt as humanity to the Inuit.
And from the Arabs? Coffee. Pure coffee.

Sat 06/07/08.

That was yesterdays date as I read it in an email. Such a nice date! And its the weekend still and the sun is shining (eat yo hat out Vancouver!) ...and its warm/hot out.

Its such a nice date...you should make a song out of it!

-  -

I have turned my face from the summer sun

The rays don't heal my bones

Ran out on the fortune of spring times rain

And transpirations of rebirth in earthly song

Merely a breeze which runs and cuts through my soul

I want to rush to the emotion of my frozen tundra

That cold uncharted terrain of my soul

Well trod with design ambition and longing

But no near remnants of foot print bare

And drink in that horizon; forever.

Kryptonite as a cure for that summer song

Which is full to the brim with longing, lust and

never ending youth filled idyllic bliss

Hide me from the out of doors

Weary tired eyes, no longer taken to whim filled glances

and flight of fancy

Of nymphs, cheer squads, sirens and parade participants to the

bedazzling spectacle of  precious fashion changes

Tides changing tunes but leaving well alone

Leading to a desolated ruin

Of a mans soul, on a high craggy place

Paging Quebec back to Canada...

Paging Quebec back to Canada...would you please return to the main staging area!!!!

  - - -

Is this like a virus? Quebec tv station wants to shut down its news stations and put reporters and journalists out of work and its staff of 250 and totally migrate to the Internet.

They have also come under regulation fire for failing to adhere to Canadian content regulations (for the 3rd year in a row again claiming its a technical glitch or "software" problem)

Havent we heard enough already with guys named Maxime ?

His interests want to buy the station and shut down the news.

The hearing marked the first time ever that a Quebec minister had appeared before the CRTC.

CRTC accuses French-language network of ignoring Canadian content laws

CRTC not buying into TQS cuts

The Language of Jesus on the Verge of Extinction.

The language we assume Jesus spoke is dying out in the last three Syrian villages where it is spoken. The Christians are migrating from these villages and Muslims are replacing them.

"In the two decades of contemplating what happened to me, I have come to recognize that a forgiving and forgetting induced by social pressure is immoral...What happened, happened. But that it happened cannot be so easily accepted. I rebel against my past, against history and against a present that places the incomprehensible in the cold storage of history and thus falsifies it in a revolting way." Disgusting headline of the day....

Bidding war for new baby photos of one actress named Angelina Jolie are up to 15 million.

I don't care if they pronounce they are going to "give the money to charity".

No brat is worth that amount of money simply for some glossies I don't care how cute he/she happens to be.

Imagine the child growing up in 20 short years and learning how stupid/idiotic we were. What the hell is the matter with us>?

Like yeah right, Pitt and his wife are such scroungers anyway (high falutin cheapskates)...as ifffffff they are going to cut off a check and wave bye bye baby to the entire 15 million clams! What, is essential non-greed the new vogue in Hollywood-land?

Pardon my cynicysm. As if that kid is going to grow up to be an astronaut or something. Actually, maybe this is the best solution yet...maybe all kids of these actors/actresses should grow up to be space cadets.

Jolie is so much the worlds most overstated "cause", highly over rated and overpaid "actress"..she gets paid for one skill and one skill only: a lethal pout from those puffy lips can 'COMMAND' x zillions of dollars per picture show.

Pitt simply destroyed the novel about Jesse James by not even acting but appearing as him self. The book was a simply wonderful piece of modern day literature, a real live window view and portal into a previously undefined portion of Americas past....when the great cause celebre of the day was a notorious bandit...

so similar to the tone of todays splashy tabloid reporting...supplanted by these modern day criminals.

To be kind and civil in society, Brad and Jolie, take a modest 150 grand and buy your kid a college ed with the funds. Send a marger message. See the bigger picture. And do it for your new born kid.

tell the world they should think of better things to do....than oooh and ahh over your new borns...who for all intensive purposes..is just another hungry mouth to feed.

Just look at these Hollywood super brat packs!!!!!!!

"In the 1890s, the head of the U.S. patent office recommended to Congress that it be closed because everything had already been invented,"

Jack Siemiatycki tells a story to explain his dedication to researching the environmental causes of cancer....

Mustn't stop seeking causes of cancer: scientist

Cancer is still the main cause of death in Quebec
It is even estimated that soon one person out of two will be
diagnosed with cancer during his or her lifetime.

Should we also attempt to prevent it by better understanding
the impact of the environment - living environment and reflect
on our lifestyle
choices- that inhibit or increase our risk of developing cancer?
