"In the two decades of contemplating what happened to me, I have come to recognize that a forgiving and forgetting induced by social pressure is immoral...What happened, happened. But that it happened cannot be so easily accepted. I rebel against my past, against history and against a present that places the incomprehensible in the cold storage of history and thus falsifies it in a revolting way." Jean Amery, At the Mind's Limit.

Bidding war for new baby photos of one actress named Angelina Jolie are up to 15 million.

I don't care if they pronounce they are going to "give the money to charity".

No brat is worth that amount of money simply for some glossies I don't care how cute he/she happens to be.

Imagine the child growing up in 20 short years and learning how stupid/idiotic we were. What the hell is the matter with us>?

Like yeah right, Pitt and his wife are such scroungers anyway (high falutin cheapskates)...as ifffffff they are going to cut off a check and wave bye bye baby to the entire 15 million clams! What, is essential non-greed the new vogue in Hollywood-land?

Pardon my cynicysm. As if that kid is going to grow up to be an astronaut or something. Actually, maybe this is the best solution yet...maybe all kids of these actors/actresses should grow up to be space cadets.

Jolie is so much the worlds most overstated "cause", highly over rated and overpaid "actress"..she gets paid for one skill and one skill only: a lethal pout from those puffy lips can 'COMMAND' x zillions of dollars per picture show.

Pitt simply destroyed the novel about Jesse James by not even acting but appearing as him self. The book was a simply wonderful piece of modern day literature, a real live window view and portal into a previously undefined portion of Americas past....when the great cause celebre of the day was a notorious bandit...

so similar to the tone of todays splashy tabloid reporting...supplanted by these modern day criminals.

To be kind and civil in society, Brad and Jolie, take a modest 150 grand and buy your kid a college ed with the funds. Send a marger message. See the bigger picture. And do it for your new born kid.

tell the world they should think of better things to do....than oooh and ahh over your new borns...who for all intensive purposes..is just another hungry mouth to feed.

"In the 1890s, the head of the U.S. patent office recommended to Congress that it be closed because everything had already been invented,"

Jack Siemiatycki tells a story to explain his dedication to researching the environmental causes of cancer....

Mustn't stop seeking causes of cancer: scientist

Cancer is still the main cause of death in Quebec
It is even estimated that soon one person out of two will be
diagnosed with cancer during his or her lifetime.

Should we also attempt to prevent it by better understanding
the impact of the environment - living environment and reflect
on our lifestyle
choices- that inhibit or increase our risk of developing cancer?

(NAACP) are not pertinent.

In the lead up to U.S. presidential elections the NAACP, ( National Association for the Advancement of Colored People ) like many other interest groups, worked with leading civil society organizations to prepare a questionnaire on issues of public policy important to the communities served by the organization.

The responses were slated to be reproduced and distributed to the NAACP members and communities so that they could make informed decisions when going to the polls.

No one Republican Party candidate took the time to reply.

Presidential candidates Senator Barack Obama and Senator Hilary Clinton both completed the NAACP survey.

In brief, but concise answers, Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton addressed most of the top domestic issues as well as issues that affect the African Diaspora such as, the genocide in Sudan, African, African debt relief, U.S. relations with Cuba and the issue of African and Caribbean trade development.

Before 9/11, and days before Y2K, there was Ahmed Ressam -- aka the "Millennium Bomber." An Algerian immigrant recruited by an al-Qaeda terrorist sleeper cell operating in Canada, Ressam went on to be investigated by CSIS and the FBI and arrested for his part in a plot to kill innocent people at Los Angeles' busiest airport.

"The Terrorist Next Door" takes viewers back to a more innocent age, (this is just what we need, a sweet surrender back to a more innocent age) when few Canadians could ever imagine that terror sleeper cells could be rooted on their own soil.

Chenier Hundal as Ressam in 'The Terrorist Next Door.'

The Terrorist Next Door premieres Sunday, June 15 at 8 p.m. ET on CTV.

Arnel Pineda

could not believe that a very simple, humble and an ordinary guy like him would end up being the latest lead vocalist of the famous band “JOURNEY”. This is just one of the many wonders of Technology by means of the Internet. He was spotted by Journey’s Lead Guitarist Neal Schon while he was surfing some site on the popular Video site Youtube.

Sad and shocking. I have always loved Benjamin Orr's music as a solo artist. Listening to 'Stay the Night' as a youth provided for some of the most memorable highlights of teenaged years.

I had taken a new shine to his music since arriving here in Prince George as my Aunt  rest her soul, passed away from that insidious killer: cancer) ..after months of listening to and enjoying his first and only solo effort 'The Lace"  I was shocked to only today just learn Ben Orr himself passed away from cancer in 2000.

Often enough I would find my self listening to 'The Lace' on road trips and distance drives. Original copies of The Lace are considered a rare find, especially the few Elektra CD copies, which sell for around $75

Take care big guy, I am sure the Big Guy has you well received and youre in the Mans hands..
