Pam Lee : Ambassador
Mood:  surprised

Surprised?

I was Googling Pam Anderson regarding this story, she's lending her celebrity status to help out kids like these ones, and came across this dumb joke.

Yeah, where else but a web site for truckers?

Shes headed to the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi to be received by His Highness Sheikha Sheikha Bint Saif Al Nayan.

While headlines may from time to time read or say 'Oh those amorous French', or 'the prudish English'

in Italy, the headline ran regarding our Former Foreign Affairs Minister saying

"Lovestruck Minister Loses his Head and Documents."

Oh those irascible Choleric Italians.

Maximes ex-gf. She  does bear that certain

resemblance

to tv beauty Sofia Milos. But I know naught who would take it for the compliment.

Here she is getting off a chopper in The Border(YouTubed).

Someone please tell me amidts all this navel gazing, cabinet shuffling and political haymaking that now is not a good time to be talking about a wireless spectrum auction.

Talk will be cheap when election fever ever hits, but it probably won't have anywhere near the same currency of conversation that must be reinvigorating watercooler discussions around the country.

But it appears there is little else in Harpers minority government that could go wrong. In fact if there were any time that it had been likened to a house of cards.......

 -- -

The fall guy or front man for the so-called Nafta-gate blunder has left office. He now being the prime minister's departing chief of staff, who else left to blame but Foreign Affairs?

But the man named Ian Brodie has left the building exonerated,  Michael Wilson, Canada's ambassador in Washington is also guiltless of interfering in Americas Democratic party leadership nomination bid.

So why is Brodie leaving again? If FA is to blame I am not sure if I should be a concerned citizen- lol.

But why would Maxime be blamed? He only left confidential documents at his gf's apartment:... once!

Who's going to accuse him of being a reckless, forgetful, stumbling Foreign Minister who creates havoc wherever he goes?

But then again don't find my lack of concern appaling, neither is the Prime Minister, even it came from his office.

-  --

I wonder what he has to say after calling Duceppe and Dion "quite a group of gossipy old busy-bodies", this is the party that reached a new low in gutter Parliamentary politics referring to departing floor crossing Belinda Stronach a dog.

So Harper and his party have the iron in their guts to say that certainly and for sure, at least he did not say gossipy old ladies

the Conservatives have the fewest women MPs of any party.

but what pet name then for the new Foreign Minister David Emerson will the Liberals think of?

Probably something nice. Maybe floor crossing ex-Liberals can help bring back a new level of austerity to Canadian politics, sadly missing the past 26 months or so.

It was April 29 of this year that the President of the country of Belarus denounced the West as having no right to demand the release of political prisoners. (He has scratched Putin from his Christmas card list saying: "we are no longer colleauges")

But it was a day later, Belarusian authorities gave 10 U.S. diplomats 72 hours to leave the country.

Dissidents are being rounded up. U.S. diplomats are being kicked out. And European officials are once again pointing accusing fingers at the continent's "last dictatorship."

"Soon I will...."

Does this guy use shoe polish on that bear semblance of a Hitler stache?

Well, as they say in French

no, not: the more things change they stay the same(bon mot!)

but voila

25 minutes with Julie Couillard.

The ex of recently resigned ex-Foreign Affairs Minister Maxime Bernier

- -

Well, Julie, theres an old saying among young old hacks still learning the ropes of the Internet game..we say to ourselves well Julie

you have been as they say: Wikpediazied

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julie_Couillard

No worries.

English Wik says : ex-girlfriend Julie Couillard, a former model, (who) had past romantic links with members of the Hells Angels

French Wik says:  she and Maxime had "une liaison amoureuse"

..a love affair.

Its just not the same thing when you put it into English, is it? Not really.

San Paulo like you have (never) seen it

In my opinion, you probably wont see a better (or worse!) film all year long.

In other words, if you are a gem hunter like me always looking for that something a little less run of the mill, maybe if you find this one on the DVD aisle you will give it more than a 2nd look.

The film lives and breathes by its tag line throughout which is: Where life is cheap. And hope is priceless.

Theres something about the inescapably tragic that sets the tone for truly beatific moments we think only Hollywood has license to capture. Until someone behind the lens adds a further deft twist to gently encourage us to cultivate our senses a little more meaningfully, to try to find something that transcends even the most mundane and bleak filled existence.

Premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival, it went straight to DVD.

I have more respect for actor Brendan Fraser than ape man comedies, ever since seeing him in films like George of the Jungle, Encino Man and Blast from the Past

(School Ties, With Honours, Gods and Monsters  are three films that give him just a little bit more dpeth of character to explore!)

He is a member of FilmAid International , a non-profit organization headquartered in New York City which screens films throughout refugee camps in Africa to help promote mental health and cultural understanding within refugee communities.

The key to beating jet lag on long haul flights is not to eat the airline food, according to scientists.

Fashion designers have always been fascinated by the idea of how clothing can transform the body, and even the perceived character of the wearer. In fiction this metamorphosis is the province of the superhero, a character who symbolizes man’s desire to go beyond the boundaries of mortal limitations.

The symbolic and metaphorical associations between fashion and the superhero are explored in this compelling exhibition. Featuring movie costumes, avant-garde haute couture, and high-performance sportswear, it reveals how the superhero serves as the ultimate metaphor for fashion and its ability to empower and transform the human body. Objects are organized thematically around particular superheroes, whose movie costumes and superpowers are catalysts for the discussion of key concepts of superheroism and their expression in fashion.

The exhibition and its accompanying book are made possible by Giorgio Armani.
