If they ever made a film...
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Just4Fun

When the world seems to want too much

When it seems cold and out of touch

I draw the drapes

Dim the lights and unplug the phone and bolt the door

Huddle up to my computer

And use my stand-by

A guaranteed way to get a good laugh

If they ever tried to make a film...in this day and age as funny and laugh-out-loud as this film it would play for 6 months in a row and break all the previously held box office records

..and I guess that's why no one even dare tries. :)

 Hmmhh....what thinks you?

..did you hear that there is a lot of buzz in online media about the ill fated maiden voyage of the ocean liner Titantic?

Seems they sent some cameras down there for the first time in a long time and that some people believe her sinking was actually a plotted criminal act perpetuated by her owners as part of an insurance scam!

If those types of things interest you, you really should click here

Never before seen photographs of Marilyn Monroe on location in Banff, Alberta, Canada.
She injured herself while shooting The River Of No Return.

I have started a rumour that James Bond 23 is scouting there for their next out take ...

Do you remember...those funny little things called

"HOME PAGES"?

 MSN? FreeYellow? TalkCity?

I do not know what it is that has got me thinking about

the good old days

when part of me knows, the good old days were not always good.

But ten years ago, which is  from when the afore-posted link web snap shot was taken, Classifieds2000 had Craigslist beat by light years in terms of fashioning the curve. It looks nicer too if I might add.

But you know something? Those really are the good old days.

From memory I still remember some people I have had the most fleeting of correspondence with even after 10-12 years.

I guess it really helps if the person really "stands out"from the crowd. (And nothing against them, but I dont mean like  a rooster puck style hair-do kind of way, either.)

Whereas some people make themselves stand out, others seem oblivious to their wholesome originality. I remember one girl who introduced me (so to speak) to bands like Matt Good and Matchbox 20, when they were then still relative unknowns and barely on the music scene.

And then one late, late summer eve I met this one couple at a bus stop late one night (more like early one morning) as we were all tripping into Vancouver from Burnaby on a late-night owl bus.

Getting and squeezing the last kicks from summer and its warm nights.

We made company for the night, walking around, drinking cans of beer in public, they even invited me up for a drink later (they had just spent the eve at a  wedding recpetion when I met them) and we talked into the next day. Turns out he worked for a radio station and she had some tenuous connection to Hollywood.

Anyway! Sometimes I wonder if these two (the girl from the ad and the girl I met that night) were not in fact the same person but of course now I will never know.

Never thought about it, though, at the time. Would have been quite impossible to have occured to me. You know how it is....

But it does help to look back at ourselves and laugh and grin.

The Internet has only gotten wilder since then. We , in realized net-time, are like the old farting fogies of the Internet.

We would not even dreamed of posting photos of ourselves online in drunk fests and such compromising positions. To us-,...that would have been the equivalent of a nightmare.

But, all it took was a turn of the century and click of the clock into a new millenenium and one year after that and...

Now ...in adddition to everything everything being 'emo', pwaned, and something to do with privacy ("what?")  you must blog, Twitter, have a presence on YouTube and Facebook as well as MySpace to capture people online and keep them as customers. Whereas ten years ago, these were like feint blicking lights on a far away horizon..

So now here we are these days...when it used to be: PVMYPTOW (please visit my poorly thought out web page).......working the net is tantamount to survival..ahhhhhh the good ol' days? Who has the time?:)

I now direct you to bikini clad Kim Kardashians Twitter background on the Huffington Post.

I cant stand all that much 50's diners my self...but anyone want ice cream sundae?

I thought I would give an answer to the mainstream press and their coverage of a shirtless Obama vactioning in Hawaii by posting this lovely photo of the lovely First Lady.

(You can go Image Google surf for that pic, me no thanks:)

She was on the cover of Vogue last year (i.e.e photo below). Obama was on the cover years of GQ and you can bet, first impressions do last as one look was all it took. And you think: hoop shot, swoosh, THAT MAN is going to be President of the United States.

Dear Husband,

"Hey Jr. that looks really funny...follow me we'll see what Mom thinks..."

Funny though I never knew Florida has bears. I always thought this was the land of the sand crane, python, jaguar, tarantula (ok I'll stop) and crocodile.

The photo shows a bear cub who had had his head stuck in a jar after foraging in the garbage. Wildlife officials had to isolate the cub by tranquilizing the mother, snatch the little cub away and remove the encumbrance before letting them free in the wild far from civilization.

The clear plastic container was removed from the 6-month-old cub's head after being stuck for at least 10 days.  Biologists had said the bear was days away from death as the jar had made it impossible to eat or drink

CNN ALSO REPORTS

It took 10 days for officials to track down the bear family using baited traps and following up frantic leads by concerned residents.

The wary mother avoided traps for over a week, and the hunters assumed Jarhead was dead.

But just as biologists were giving up, they caught a glimpse of the family and shot the protective female with a tranquilizer gun.

They scooped up the little cub, and after a brief tussle, they were able to grab the container off his head.

Link to park where bear was found. Happy travels....

Never seen a bear as long as I have been in Prince George.  They must be avoiding me. I should be awatching the way I talk; even online as-,.....oh no, you're not gonna believe this-lol
