Question: ..In the spring of 2008 leading up to both the Democratic and Republican Presidential nominations the following assertion was made in the context of WHAT event?
(GWB's) "refusal to let two confidants provide information to Congress about fired federal prosecutors represents the most expansive view of executive privilege since Watergate."
ANSWER: What is.................a "contempt trial'?
Could you be more specific?
The Democrats made their claim in a court filing today (Thursday) with U.S. District Judge John Bates.
Even if they win, Bush could appeal. And from what I have read, there will not be another hearing on the matter until the start of summer anyway.
Besides.....

Well, at least I had my topic correct for this blog entry. Or does someone out there think I should have chosen 'entertainment'?
We'll be back. Right after this.
His Medal of Honor was the last presented by President Richard Nixon.
I was the first community in California to have an English name;
every other community up until that point was Spanish or Native American in origin.
In 2005, Forbes magazine listed me as having 6,570 crimes per 100,000 residents — the highest listed;
and 0.8% of engineers within total employment — the lowest listed.
I had the 7th lowest (of 150) educational attainment (bachelor's degree or higher over the age 25).
Central Connecticut State University surveys from 2005 and 2006 ranked me as the most illiterate of all U.S. cities with a population greater than 250,000.
I was so disproportionately affected by the collapse of the sub-prime lending market in 2007, I led the United States in foreclosures for that year, with one out of every thirty homes posted for foreclosure
Which city am I now am?

Look at this..I found a house to live in and buy.
To be fair, I have had much to contribute.
In 1825, the world's first passenger rail journey took place along the Stockton and Darlington Railway between Shildon and Stockton, via Darlington.
And now, a pioneering railway town where the world's first rail passenger journey began has been stripped of some of its heritage.
Rail operator demolishes historic rail tunnel shafts
I wonder if it had anything to do with this.

Just over a week ago, the LA TIMES was reporting:
But now this same senior al-Qaida operative involved in the 2005 London subway and bus bombings and a 2006 plot to blow up commercial airliners over the Atlantic Ocean as well as assisted Danes on plots for terrorism has died in Pakistan's tribal region, U.S. counterterrorism officials said yesterday."If Al Qaeda strikes the West in the coming months, it's likely the mastermind will be a stocky Egyptian explosives expert with two missing fingers.
His alias is Abu Ubaida al Masri. Hardly anyone has heard of him outside a select circle of anti-terrorism officials and Islamic militants. But as chief of external operations for Al Qaeda, investigators say, he has one of the most dangerous -- and endangered -- jobs in international terrorism. "
from hepatitis.
He was previously thought to have been in hiding and died in an airstrike
and had a job with the lowest life expectancy in international politics."
And in other aviation news...
British Airways has lost the luggage of a passenger who died on a flight from Hong Kong.
His bags are among the estimated 28,000
which went missing when the handling system failed at the £4.3billion terminal.
Many have been sent to Milan in Italy and Memphis in the U.S. to be sorted.

I was the maid to a very private entertainer. I was released, by a family member I believe unfairly. Since being fired, I have been approached on serveral occasions to give an interview about, the many life stories I know. I never signed any confidentiality agreement.
What, I want to know is would it be fraud to offer the entertainer the rights, to the infromation I contain first? I, still fill some loyality and don't wish to harm this person pubically, but it is ALOT of money to me.
- -
Hmm. Any takers?
I would say , well, first of all you mis-spelled LOYALTY but luckily for the both's of us I happen to have a dictionary on my Blackberry (do you know what a Blackberry is?) plus my brother is a word-o-logist (do you know what a word-o-logist is?) so I think we can start right away by looking it up...please have a seat.
Please!
I wonder if its Rob Lowe.
Vexes Wal-Mart
LENEXA, Kan. -- For nearly 30 years, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. employed a video-production company here to capture footage of its top executives, sometimes in unguarded moments. Two years ago, the retailing giant stopped using the tiny company.
At first, the decision threw Flagler Productions Inc. into a panic. Now it's Wal-Mart that's squirming.
In recent months, Flagler has opened its trove of some 15,000 Wal-Mart tapes to the outside world, with an eye toward selling clips. The material is proving irresistible to everyone from business historians and documentary filmmakers to plaintiffs lawyers and union organizers.
Among the revealing moments: A ...
" Hi this is the Nielsens ratings calling, we have recently expanded into polling peoples attitudes and feelings surrounding celebrities in the news and we were wondering if you could quickly partcipate in our little poll....
of the following three stories, which one do you care the most about and which one do you care the least about? "
All answers will be kept confidential and youre identity will not be revealed to any of the celebrities in the story even if you are a fan.
Un-break my heart sings Naomi and J-Lo
Jennifer Lopez names Tom Cruise as babys godfather and reports DIAMOND ENCRUSTED baby rattles and 600 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets (who hee something wrong with satin you cheap whore trashing mama? and couldnt you afford ORGANIC? laughs)
More British than the British her self, British supermodele Naomi Campbell has been banned for life from flying British Airways EVER! (lets see if you can get the point to that Naomi the next RUNWAY you fly off of or walk down onto)
Campbell had exploded with rage at Heathrow and was dragged, handcuffed, off a Los Angeles-bound jet.
There you have it folks, even I could have predicted the new hangar and delay of flights and cancellations could have turned into Naomis Campbells nightmare.
It was on a street so evil
So bad that even hell disowned it

Toni Braxton, a six-time Grammy winner for songs including "Un-break My Heart" and "Breathe Again
Toni Braxton is also a spokeswoman for the American Heart Association as well as for Autism Speaks.
Sad fact is people care more if a supermodels heel breaks or Tom Cruise is named a god daddy by some Latina super star who buys diamond encrusted goodies for her baby just to show she aint trash. (no more) than if Toni Braxton cancels her show and lands in a hospital bed.
Toni will never be as rich and as famous as Jennifer Lopez and when she has a baby, People Magazine wont be forking her 5 million dollars for photos.
But she still has that something Naomi and J-Lo lack and couldnt put together with a million baby photos put together betwen the two of them (ack, jhow bad is that?)
Class. Loads and loads of class.
And class is not something you buy.

Iran gives ex-nuclear negotiator and also a former ambassador to Germany, plus deputy head of a research institute led by this guy
Whoops.
Document shows Tehran pursued a military nuclear program after 2003 .
Interestingly, this report is from the NCRI and is classified as a Foreign Terrorist Organisation by the US.
Nitpicking aside though, the US has had all the impetus they need now to fight Iran already tucked away if they feel stronly enough that Iran is both a contributor to the fighting and the unrest and instablity in its neighbor country.
Because of all this unrest with the finger pointed at Iran as instigator and threatening neighbor, 140,000 troops could still be in Iraq indefinitely when President George W Bush leaves office in January.
No easy answers for Iraq or the American people.
