Do you know how it is when every once in a while while reading the news, standing out amidst all the junky garbage/ry stories about crime,mayhem,mishaps,stupidities,oddities and general carnage there comes one that threatens to warm the cockles of yo heart?
You don't? OH, okay but anyway, this one really caught my eye
because it reminded me of the number of times we see a kid or child wildly praised and commended for knowing how to use the 911 feature on the home telephone, cast in the spotlight because she or he knew "exactly what to do" when Mommy or Daddy was found not breathing with the vacuum cleaner still on or something, and spoke calmly and gave great directions to the person on the phone and did exactly as they were told.
And then you read a story like this...

DETROIT (AP) - A Detroit 911 operator has been found guilty of willful neglect of duty -- a six member jury agreeing with prosecutors who said Sharon Nichols didn't take seriously a 5-year boy's frantic call to report his mother's collapse.
Robert Turner, who is now 7, testified that Nichols accused him of playing games and hung up on him during his first emergency call.
Nichols could get up to a year in jail on the misdemeanor conviction.
Another operator, who took his second call, was described as rude by the trial judge, but showed no evidence of willful neglect.
Robert's mother Sherill Turner was found dead by police three hours after he made the first call.
