Pause the flow aka pelting on Pelton
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Crime and Punishment

Memo to Robert Young Pelton, opinions worth what they are I still think his little (note the emphasis on that preceding word) uh "greasy backwater" of a web site or uh.."travel bbs"is lacking the exciting camouflage against the backdrop of the lustre web it once had.

http://cafe.comebackalive.com/

He is either getting lazy, stagnant, or  complacent or possibly all 3.

Once upon a time, I went searching in the past. Falling backwards into time. Looking and sifting through things not built to last. Here I remain. Unsatisfied.

Sell-a-br8ing the silly season upon us (totally)
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Tech

So......

I have not had a lot of time to pay attention to this on-line endeavor ..

which is coming up to an anniversary 7 years since it's inception.

(It's a bit of a small wonder I have not migrated over to Tumblr already and well although fairly nifty, it does not allow for links in the tab.

But inbetween other various s o c i a l  s t r a t a , this blog has definitely suffered the brunt of the division of my online time.

And with that pre-able aisde, I have found a couple of new developments worth at least a blurb of sorts.

When people start to begin to talk seriously of Vancouver being a launch pad for rocket shuttles, we certainly will be solidified as a world class city, Expo 86 and Olympics notwithstanding.

Not to belittle the Mayors efforts to form his city into one of the worlds greenest and a paragon for all (it's really working by the way) in making Vancouver even more of a Pacific jewel of the west coast, for now we will simply have to be satisfied with hosting a company that will provide the world's first HD video feed of Earth streamed from space.

Ladies and gents, this blog is pleased to draw the curtains behind to showcase:

- - Thanks for visiting.- - - - - -

Also making a new addition to the permalinks to the left.

http://www.frixo.com/

Maybe we can bring them both together. Cheerio and tally ho.

Singer George Michael has the same birthday as George Orwell

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/music-news/10139404/George-Michael-50-years-in-numbers.html

JUNE 25

But lets see. Former spy contractor Snowden to China to Russia to Ecuador.

And then theres this tiny tid bit of information about how the republic block formerly known as U.S.S.R was sitting on top of a pyramid chain of misaligned information back in the 70's that would succeed in producing a row of terror plots and attacks based on misdirection and disinformation.

For espionage news followers, this is a lighting bolt to the stiff historical Cold War timeline of events.

http://www.algemeiner.com/2013/06/26/top-level-soviet-defector-in-new-book-anti-israel-sentiment-is-the-result-of-a-kgb-plot/

I am wondering out loud (WOL?) if Snowdens defection it self a counter move as part of a larger than life jigsaw puzzle plot to disinform intel contained in Assanges Wikileaks as well as an actual counterspin move against Chinas thirst for energy and desire to achieve total economic hegenomy but with Russias interest in supplying Eastern outposts in Europe with LNG via pipeline balanced in between.

But what else can I say. I am totally just a lonely isolated blogger with time on my hands in this makeshift hobby.

Fascinating stuff.

Excellent  piece of writing by noted war commentator and world affairs columnist Gwynne Dwyer.

http://www.straight.com/news/390531/gwynne-dyer-nelson-mandelas-legacy

But what would he call this film? Pro-union propoganda?

http://youtu.be/PPc62K9su_k

Don't forget or neglect:   Nelson Mandela was imprisoned as a communist and a terrorist Not because the color of his skin.

So are there not deeper issues at stake that are considered more of a wedge in politics than this mythological social construct called: "race"?

Such as Canadian union support of calling of Israels partition of Palestine as : "apartheid"?

http://mrzine.monthlyreview.org/2006/cosatu070606.html

Especially in light of  last year’s mining tragedy at Marikana

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marikana_miners'_strike#16_August_shooting

new turns in development even as we write and speak bring to mind the same comparisons in place since from when blacks first made their first steps in their long march from slavery to freedom in the US.

the road was long and arduous.

But look. Change can happen over night , too.

http://www.moneyweb.co.za/moneyweb-mining/did-south-african-mining-just-grow-up

Are these the far left voices of the nation of Israel added to the din? Or is it a "classic" era-,.. race war?

Twenty-five years ago, strict laws against relationships between whites and so-called non-whites would have made their love illegal.

During the apartheid era, homes of couples discovered to be breaking the laws were raided, and their bed sheets often checked and removed in case they needed to be used in court to prove illicit relations

Forget LIBYA - SNC LAVALIN - CANADA!

Holy Cow! The wife of the former head of Canadas spy agency oversight commitee is in some pretty deep water over her head in something or other.

With the countrys national police forces and commitees investigating Senate expenses,

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/ethics-watchdog-suspends-probe-into-nigel-wright-as-rcmp-investigation-continues/article12518741/

I dont think she will possess the

requisite alacrity as Pamela Wallin did to claim the paperwork

was too complicated for her to understand

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/senators-brazeau-harb-given-one-month-to-repay-tens-of-thousands-in-expenses/article12509191/

Nor I do not suppose too many folks out there have too much time to think about the "important work" of Mario Dion.

The former head of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal systematically humiliated staff in the "worst case" of workplace harassment the federal whistleblower watchdog says he's ever seen

http://www.torontosun.com/2013/04/18/worst-case-of-workplace-harassment-at-rights-tribunal-integrity-commissioner

And now he finds well over half a million dollars wrongly awarded to a company / couple wanting to build a bridge to America

A Little B'r'it Crazy
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Entertainment

British television certainly has come quite a way from -,..

Coronation Street.

The intelligence and forethought put in some of the scripted dialogues I  have seen lately makes one want to leap from ones seat and cut a path straight over the Silk Road to Britain itself and settle in with the comforts and stresses of London life.

Below have all been excellent viewing and calling cards for the City of London the exciting life the UK portends to visitors in general.

Judge Deed (complete season 5) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znOIZM9zxWY

MI-5 (complete season 9) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bh5sIbyHtIU

An Education (film based on a book of memoirs) http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer/an-education/interview-screenplay-memoir

Desert Flower (true story that put female genital mutilation on the international human rights agenda) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKgaXGMPJDs

http://movies.nationalgeographic.com/movies/desert-flower/

Backbeat (story of the Beatles rise to fame) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrLGwxh47pM

'The Special Relationship' (HBO film about Tony Blair and Bill Clinton) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWHjHMrRiE4

and 'The Queen' , (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lF_KpWfFyR8)

Goal! (like a 'thinking mans Rocky')

All of the afore-highlighted links I have enjoyed on DVD with their Special Features and behind the scenes footage in just the past few weeks.

I can now just imagine a talking head aka well informed hugely protective with adequately swelled with pride over British culture fan saying. "Were a lot ,more than just X Factor over here you know" :)
