This is one of those songs that can wreck havoc and play with your mind, and drop your soul off someplace else

Night to Remember

Hey little girl, I'm a man of the world
Some say I've been around
Hey little girl, can I show you the world
Lay down beside me now
Never forget, this moment we met
Forever recall this night
Doin' it all on a night to remember

Night to remember, a night to live on
A moment together, it's here then it's gone

Turn out the light, look in my eyes
Open your heart to me
Love on the run, it's only begun
Darlin' I know you'll see
Sweet talk and wine, spendin' the time
Learnin' what love's all about
Never forget, this moment we met
Don't let it end without doin' it all on a night to remember

Night to remember, a night to live on
A moment together, it's here then it's gone
A night to remember, a night to live on
A moment together, it's here then it's gone

Sweet talk and wine, spendin' the time
Learnin' what love's all about
Never forget, this moment we met
Don't let it end without doin' it all on a night to remember

Night to remember, a night to live on
A moment together, it's here then it's gone
A night to remember, a night to live on
A moment together, it's here then it's gone
A night to remember, a night to live on
A moment together, it's here then it's gone

Vanishing Vancouver
Mood:  bright
Topic: CLOSED FOR THE SUMMER

On my way to the library this morning I came across a graffitti tag removal team on the job ...

I guess they were taking a break for lunch when  I snapped this photo, a real hatchet job, halfway done and incomplete

But this is the type of material they are going to be covering up and painting over...?

to be replaced with a nice sold blue line for our visual enjoyment?

I tend to think that perhaps the City of Vancouver, in conjunction with the Olympic Organizing Commitee, have something prettier and  perhaps even thematic with sports lined up, perfectly timed for the upcoming athletic prowess extravaganza our city is hosting in Feb/2010

which I am all for and can understand the logic in

I just  thought it just as important to document, as maybe Werner Herzog would, to document in some way, these outstanding cultural artifacts

There must be a story behind them...were they commisioned works for instance, by Emily Carr students? By a budding practicing artists?

Who knows>????????

They could be covering up some tagged graffitti that was ontop of these murals (at least one done by this company)

but when I spoke to the worker, as much as I applaud thieir efforts to re-beatify vandalized neighborhoods, he remarked to me when I asked him that of course it didnt seem right, to cover up and bury these already pre-existing works of art...
